This Magformers Challenge 14 Piece Advanced Magnetic Construction Set contains new mini-hexagon and mini-octagon pieces alongside squares and triangles. It is the perfect introductory set to the magical, magnetic world of Magformers. But is also a lovely add-on for anyone with other sets – as it introduces the new shapes.
Magformers are proven to inspire children’s creativity and assist their 3D brain development through play. Children can make 2D flat ‘net’ shapes then transform them into exciting 3D geometric structures. Every magnetic shape features the unique Rotating Magnets System (RMS) – strong barrel magnets safely sealed inside the edges which rotate, so they always connect to each other.
With this new set, there’s an additional challenge to test your child’s brain as not every side of the hexagons and octagons contain magnets! So they really have to figure out how to make models.
The set encourages open-ended STEM play, so children aged 3+ can make whatever models they choose. But there is also a model book which suggests what can be made
