A child who knows how to read early on will have better vocabulary, use the correct grammar, have improved writing, be better at spelling, and also more articulated speech. These are great skills to have, no matter what a child’s future holds. These skills will be with them and will also help them throughout their entire lives. When we read a book, we put ourselves in the story in front of us. This allows us to develop empathy as we experience the lives of other characters and can identify with how they are feeling.
