Polly Pocket

Imagine a whole little world, complete with tiny dolls, furniture, and adventures, all packed inside a compact, locket, or small playset! That’s Polly Pocket. She’s a fun, adventurous girl, and her friends live in charming, miniature environments designed for imaginative play.

They are famously, brilliantly small! The original Polly Pocket dolls were barely an inch tall, and the playsets were no bigger than a makeup compact or a small jewelry box. Modern versions are a little bigger, but still wonderfully petite – perfect for carrying in your pocket or a small bag.

Anywhere you can imagine! Polly’s compacts have featured everything from sparkling castles and cosy houses to bustling cafes, sandy beaches, ski resorts, animal hospitals, and even fantasy lands with mermaids and unicorns. Each compact is a unique, self-contained little adventure.

Not at all! Polly Pocket has evolved over the years. The original sets from the late 80s and 90s (made by Bluebird Toys, then Mattel) featured very tiny, hard plastic dolls and hinged compacts. Later, in the early 2000s, the dolls became larger and had soft, bendable clothes. The most recent versions, since 2018, have returned to a smaller size, often with “Stick ‘n’ Play” features that let the dolls stick to certain spots in the playset!

So many things! It’s all about discovery and imagination. Each compact has tiny surprises – hidden doors, spinning parts, or transforming areas. Kids love creating stories, moving the tiny dolls around their miniature world, and the joy of having a whole adventure that can fit right into their bag for on-the-go fun.

Many of the newer Polly Pocket dolls feature “Polly Stick” technology. This means their feet are made with a special material that can slightly “stick” to designated areas on the playset surface, allowing the dolls to stand, sit, or even hang upside down without falling over! It’s a clever way to keep the play stable.
