Frequently asked questions
What exactly are Super Zings / SuperThings?
Imagine if your breakfast cereal, a pencil, or a lightning bolt suddenly came to life, gained superpowers, and started battling for control of a city! That’s essentially a Super Zing or SuperThing. They are tiny, quirky, collectible characters, each an anthropomorphized everyday object, divided into rival teams of heroes and villains within Kaboom City.
What's the difference between "Super Zings" and "SuperThings"?
They’re actually the same fantastic toys! “Super Zings” was the original name for the first few series. However, the brand underwent a global rebranding to “SuperThings” to make it more consistent internationally. So, if you hear “Super Zings,” think “early SuperThings series.” Same amazing world, just a shinier, bigger name!
Why are these little toys so popular?
It’s a potion of pure playfulness!
- Collectibility: There are hundreds of characters, making the hunt for rare ones incredibly exciting.
- Blind Bags: The thrill of opening a blind bag and not knowing which character you’ll get is pure joy.
- Affordability: They’re generally inexpensive, making them accessible treats.
- Imaginative Play: Kids love creating their own good-vs-evil battles and stories in Kaboom City.
- Variety: New series are released frequently, with fresh themes and characters to keep things exciting.
Are there different kinds of SuperThings to collect?
Absolutely! Beyond the basic common characters, there are:
- Rare: Silver-colored characters.
- Super Rare: Gold-colored characters, often leaders or special figures.
- Ultra Rare: These are the ultimate prizes! Often distinctive in design (like Kid Kazoom or Enigma figures), they are incredibly hard to find.
- Special Finishes: Some series feature metallic, crystal, or glow-in-the-dark characters.
- Teams: Characters are organized into themed teams (e.g., Food Fighters, Tech Team, Construction Crew) that belong to either the hero or villain side.
What about vehicles and playsets?
SuperThings aren’t just figures! To expand the Kaboom City universe, you can find a range of:
- Vehicles: Called “Blasters” or “Kazoom Racers,” these often come with exclusive characters and can launch discs or engage in battles.
- Playsets: These include hero or villain hideouts, battle arenas, command centers, and even larger structures like the Kaboom City Police Station or the Monster Roller. They provide the perfect backdrop for epic adventures!
How many "series" or "collections" are there?
Dozens! Since the initial Super Zings Series 1, there have been many, many more, each with a unique theme (e.g., Secret Spies, Battle Arena, Neon Power, V-Raptors, Guardians of Kazoom, Mutant Battle, etc.). Magic Box, the creators, are constantly releasing new series, keeping the SuperThings world fresh and exciting.
