The Tinker is a combination of the powerful Shire horse, the vigorous Clydesdale, the majestic Friesian, and the calm Dales pony. These horse breeds were crossed by the Romani communities of Great Britain and Ireland to create a strong and robust draft and pack horse. At the same time, they paid close attention to the animals’ temperament. They had to be absolutely peaceful and docile. To this day, the Tinker is known and appreciated for these qualities. For this reason, it is also often used for therapeutic riding.
