Introducing the Dartboard. 501 or 301. Each player starts with a score of 501 or 301 and takes turns to throw 3 darts. The score for each turn is calculated and also subtracted from that players total. A bulls eye scores 50. A dart in the outer ring score 25 and a dart in the double or treble ring counts double or treble the segment score. The objective is to be the first player to reduce the score to exactly zero. The only problem being that the last dart must land in a double or the bulls eye.
If a player reduces the score to 1 or goes below zero, the score is bust, and that players turn ends immediately and their score is returned to what it was at the start of that turn.
Playing darts challenges your brain in a number of ways, and increases aim and also hand-eye coordination. Getting a bull’s eye takes practice and a lot of brainpower! Consistently playing darts is fantastic mental exercise. In fact, it exercises the largest part of your brain: the cerebrum. The most popular game of darts people play is the 501 (or 301). As you throw your darts, you try to go from 501 points to zero by subtracting the score you have accumulated each turn. 301 is played exactly the same way but players start the game with 301. Some games require a double to start scoring also.
