A cotbed can eventually convert into a junior bed, also referred to as a toddler bed, whereas a cot does not convert. A cot will see your baby through to approximately 2 years old, however a cotbed (once converted into a toddler bed) will be suitable until your child reaches around 5 or 6 years old.
